CEGC Annual Photo shoot and Christmas Party

Its time again for CEGC Annual PhotoShoot!  We will start shooting at 5PM on Saturday, December 15th at the CEGC Gym.  We encourage you to order at the time of the shoot to ensure the earliest possible delivery, additional photo purchases will be available online.  At this time we do not have a re-shoot scheduled, so please be there Saturday!  We request that all hair, makeup, uniforms, and poses are prepared prior to arrival.  After the photo shoot, CEGC will host the gym Christmas party with finger-foods provided by the best Gym Families in the World!

Epiphany Studios

Does this still count as a blog if I haven't uploaded anything in a year?  Well, I finally got a chance to shoot in a studio.  Through a local meet-up group, Epiphany Studios in Tempe, AZ allowed a bunch (100 or so) photographers to come in and sample their space.  I learned a lot, about the equipment, set ups, and just how much I don't know about professional photography.  But, I did have a great time, and I think I got some quality shots.  So here they are...

 I tried a couple different editing styles with the shots below - I was only using my SB900 on camera with the room ambient light providing the rest.

The young lady below was a lot of fun to photograph.  Unfortunately we weren't working with the studio lights, and there were about 20 photographers popping flashes all at once.  It made it difficult to get a high number of successful shots, but I do like the ones I pulled off here.

Congratulations Paul and Lauren!

Back in December I was asked if I would be available to take engagement photos for my daughters gymnastics coach's daughter (Lauren).  The only catch is they would have to be done Tomorrow!  One day to prepare!  I'd been waiting a while to get to do engagement photos, so why wait any longer.  I met Paul and Lauren in the afternoon, hoping to get some good evening sunlight, and we definitely did!  Heather assisted, and I think we captured the fun and excitement these two are sharing as they prepare or a long life of sunsets together!

Peyton Beals...we're waiting...

So this last week, I had the privilege of sharing with my best friend and his wife, the anticipation of their baby!  Due to arrive in the next couple weeks is Peyton Beals!  It is going to be awesome to see how this little girl turns one of my best friends lives upside down!  He is going to be wrapped around her little finger.  With three girls of my own...I know first hand!  It was fun to capture these shots, and try out new techniques, I'm not sure I'm cut out to be a full time Mama-razzi - but I wont pass up the opportunity if I'm asked.  Congratulations April and Mikey!

Its About Time!

Well I'm waiting like a kid in a candy store for my new equipment to arrive.  Its not really mine, but I get to use it - and I'm stoked!  I'll have a chance to shoot some of the most amazing places I have ever been.   I've met up with several local photographers, and there doesn't appear to be a shortage of photography work.  I will do my best to keep photos posted on the blog here, and to tell you about my travels.  In the mean time, here are a few shots from my time here.
